Preparation Of Bedrock Whisky
Whisky preparation is not an easy process – it takes years of mastery, careful planning, and trial and error methods to craft the desired whisky. It also takes years to age the whisky and enhance its flavors. Bedrock Whisky has certainly embraced this philosophy, blending craftsmanship with creativity. What makes Bedrock Whisky a unique product is not just its layered profile, but the story it tells through every bottle and every sip. A story of Goa’s rich, natural terrain.
The production of the whisky is what really makes it unique. It has been filtered through quartz sand, limestone, basalt, and activated carbon. This process enhances purity while preserving the intricate flavors of whisky.
The team behind Earth Rustic Spiced Rum is responsible for creating the Bedrock Whisky. It is a handcrafted blend that takes inspiration from Goa’s natural, earthy terrain. The whisky has been aged in a unique combination of American Oak and Sherry casks. The Scotch elements mature for five years, whereas the Indian malt ages for three years. When the whisky is matured for this duration, you get a well-rounded whisky with deep, earthy, and complex notes.

Co-Founder Sachin Bhamri’s Thoughts On Bedrock Whiskey
Speaking of their newest venture, Sachin Bhamri, Co-Founder, SSKB Wines, stated that, “’India is rich in diverse cultures and agricultural practices, yet regional whiskey variations are underrepresented. There is potential in creating whiskeys that reflect the local terroir, history, and craftsmanship of different states or regions. Unlike international whiskeys aged in cooler climates, Bedrock Whiskey thrives in India’s unique environment.”

“Distilled in Goa’s coastal heat and aged in Maharashtra’s highlands, its tropical climate accelerates maturation, resulting in a whiskey with a distinct, earthy richness that sets it apart from traditional Scotch and international spirits”.
Tasting Notes And Price Of Bedrock Whisky
The top notes of Bedrock Whisky boast of hints of toffee, honey, dried fruits, floral notes, and a touch of spice. Take a sip of the whisky and you’ll get a well-rounded balance of the smoothness of Scotch. Along with that, you get a delightful taste of creamy vanilla. This is complemented by subtle fruit notes of apricot and apple that finish with a sweet aftertaste.
The texture of the whisky lingers long on your palate and offers a subtle smokiness and warmth.
Bedrock Whisky is now available for sale in Goa at the price of INR 1,600. The brand, though only in Goa as of April 2025, plans to expand into the states of Maharashtra, Telangana, Chhattisgarh, and Delhi.
