In recent years, India's single malts have made their presence felt on the international stage, with Indri at the forefront of this trend. To coincide with the festive season, Piccadily Distilleries has announced the Indri Diwali Collector’s Edition 2026, a limited-edition Ruby Port Cask single malt that combines Indian whisky-making methods, artistic heritage, and exclusivity.
Master Blender Surrinder Kumar created the whisky, which dominated during an international appearance in London before being featured at The Whisky Show, with only 600 individually numbered bottles set aside for the Indian market. As the fourth release in Indri's annual festive series, it is already attracting the interest of whisky connoisseurs and collectors.

The most recent version adopts a different method for maturing the whisky, using Ruby Port wine casks carefully sourced from Portugal. It is produced from six-row barley and distilled in traditional copper pot stills, then matures in the subtropical climate of northern India, which influences its devel
opment in the casks.
Ruby Port casks are famous for giving whisky rich fruit notes, a feature evident in this edition. As Indri states, the nose displays notes of black cherries, wild berries, and ripe plums, and on the palate there are honeyed fruits, roasted nuts, toffee, vanilla, and figs. The tasting experience is finished with a long, fruit-driven aftertaste. This Indian version is available in a 700 ml bottle with an alcohol-by-volume strength of 50%.
This year's release also features impressive packaging, which was designed by Krsnaa Mehta, the founder of India Circus. The design is based on traditional Indian miniature paintings and on the country's royal heritage. The bottle has a festive look because of its rich jewel tones, intricate floral patterns and ornate details. In the middle of the artwork is a Marwari horse with its foal, an image that stands for nobility, lineage and continuity. Because of the artistic way in which it is presented, the bottle is especially attractive to collectors of limited-edition spirits.

The Indri Diwali Collector’s Edition series achieved international acclaim in 2023 when that year's whisky was named Best Whisky in the World at the Whiskies of the World Awards. The 2026 release has already earned the brand several awards. It obtained Double Gold with 96 points at the USA Spirits Ratings 2026, where it was also recognised as Indian Single Malt Whisky of the Year and Spirit of the Year, India.
The Diwali Collector’s Edition series won additional gold medals at the World Whisky Masters 2026, the New York World Spirits Competition 2026, and the Asia World Spirits Competition 2026 in Singapore, and Piccadily Distilleries states that the series has now accumulated 29 international awards.
