Johnnie Walker Launches Blue Label Azure, Coastal Summer-Inspired Version For Global Travel Retail

Summer’s here and Johnnie Walker has taken it on itself to make your summer dreams a little more indulgent. The brand has launched ‘Blue Label Azure’, a travel-retail exclusive that will put the whisky at the center of all ‘summer celebrations’. Diageo, helming Johnnie Walker, unveiled the Blue Label Azure on 27 April, 2026. Let’s take a look at the new summer launch that is positioned for global travel retail.

Flavor Profile And Growing Global Travel Retail

Global whisky brand Johnnie Walker released a new limited-edition expression, the Blue Label Azure on 27 April, 2026. The new expression has been positioned as a seasonal innovation designed to tap into breezy summer travel. The focus of the new expression has been kept on coastal and warm-weather destinations.

Developed by Master Blender Dr. Emma Walker, Blue Label Azure is described as a brighter interpretation of the brand’s signature profile. It combines citrus, orchard fruits, gentle smoke, and sweetness. The expression has been designed to be enjoyed neat or paired with seafood.

The launch reflects the growing demand for exclusivity in travel retail. Travel retail is continuously expanding, with differentiated products continuing shopper engagement. According to the brand, nearly one-third of duty-free shoppers are motivated by products that are exclusive or distinct to the channel.

The product features a bespoke bottle design that has been created in collaboration with Colombian designer Johanna Ortiz. The bottle has been designed inspired by a coastal aesthetic. It is presented in a custom bottle bag designed for reuse. What’s also interesting is that the bottle is made from 100% post-consumer recycled glass, adding more value to the packaging.
