ABV stands for Alcohol by Volume, which measures how much pure alcohol is present in a beverage as a percentage of its total volume. For example, a drink with 40% ABV means 40% of the liquid is pure alcohol.

While regular Old Monk sits at 42.8%, some limited or export variants go stronger, offering a richer, more intense profile.
3. Bacardi 151 (Limited Availability) – 75.5% ABV
Though not widely available now, Bacardi 151 remains one of the strongest rums historically sold in India, known for its extremely high proof. This particular expression is not being produced anymore.

9. Strong Beers (Kingfisher Strong, Godfather, Tuborg Strong) – 7% to 8% ABV
India is one of the few markets where strong beer dominates, with alcohol levels going up to 8%.
