Where To Drink In Delhi: Exploring Home And PCO, Two Of South Delhi’s Finest Cocktail Destinations

Delhi’s cocktail scene has evolved dramatically over the last decade. What was a destination known for familiar classics and standard pours has evolved into a vibrant cornerstone of innovation and world-class mixology in India. In this edition of Where to Drink in Delhi, we at unsobered ventured into South Delhi’s Vasant Vihar-Vasant Kunj belt to explore two bars that have consistently earned their place among India’s best drinking destinations: Home Delhi and PCO Delhi.

While both venues share a reputation for exceptional cocktails, their personalities could not be more different. One offers a sophisticated luxury lounge experience inside a premium entertainment hub, while the other remains a legendary speakeasy that helped shape Delhi’s modern cocktail culture.

Here’s everything we experienced!

First Stop: Home, Vasant Kunj

Located inside Ambience Mall, Vasant Kunj, Home is PVR’s ambitious take on a luxury lounge and social club. Originally launched as an exclusive members-only destination, the venue has now opened its doors to the public. The space, now opened to the public, allows guests to experience its thoughtfully curated food, cocktails, and live entertainment.

The moment you step inside, it becomes clear that Home is designed to be much more than a typical bar. The atmosphere strikes a balance between sophistication and comfort, creating a space where guests can enjoy everything from intimate conversations to lively evenings accompanied by performances and music.

Exploring The Harmony Menu

Our visit revolved around Home’s Harmony Menu, a collection of cocktails that showcases creativity without sacrificing quality. Each cocktail felt distinctive, yet approachable.

The first drink we sampled was Not a Rocket Science, a cocktail that immediately impressed with its vegetal and tropical character. The flavors felt intuitive and effortless, coming together in a way that simply worked. It was refreshing, balanced, and an excellent introduction to the menu.

Next came Rise of Opera. This is a beautifully constructed cocktail that combines bright citrus notes with warming ginger. The result was a drink that felt layered and vibrant while maintaining exceptional balance throughout.

Mamma Mia followed, bringing expressive tropical flavors to the forefront. Wonderfully blended and seamless in execution, the cocktail showcased how tropical cocktails can be elegant without feeling overbearing.

If you’re someone who enjoys sweeter, indulgent serves, Round the Clock delivers a decadent experience. It leans towards dessert-cocktail territory without feeling excessively rich.

One of the more easygoing cocktails on the menu was Boogie Woogie. It is dry, floral, and easy on the palate. It offered a lighter profile that would appeal to guests looking for something delicate and effortless.

Perhaps the most intriguing cocktail of the lineup was Elvis Presley Who? – yes, it’s a cocktail name. Funky and unapologetically umami-forward, it pushed flavor boundaries while remaining enjoyable. It was the kind of cocktail that sparks conversation and demonstrates the bar team's willingness to experiment.

A Thoughtful Zero-Proof Experience

A surprising experience we had here was Home’s zero-proof cocktail program.

As more and more drinkers embrace the sober curious movement and look for non-alcoholic options, many bars are introducing zero-proof options.

Home’s zero-proof menu draws inspiration from the body’s root chakras, creating drinks that feel intentional rather than simply being substitutes for alcoholic cocktails.

Among these zero-proof selections, the Throat Chakra stood out. It was refreshing, fruity, and pleasantly fizzy. It also offered complexity and character while remaining incredibly easy to enjoy. It was a reminder that memorable drinking experiences do not necessarily require alcohol.

What We Ate At Home

Great cocktails deserve equally great food, and Home delivered and how!

The Potato and Jackfruit Katsu Bao Slider combined comforting textures with satisfying flavors, making it a standout vegetarian option.

The Prawn Tempura & Furikake Sushi offered crisp textures and savory depth, pairing particularly well with the brighter cocktails on the menu.

Meanwhile, the Truffle Cheese Chicken Tikka brought together familiar Indian flavors with indulgent richness, particularly of the truffle.

With its polished service, inventive cocktail program, and thoughtfully curated food menu, Home successfully positions itself as one of South Delhi’s most compelling destinations for a refined night out.

Next Stop: PCO, The Bar That Changed Delhi’s Cocktail Scene

After eating and drinking our way through Home, we made our way to PCO.

Widely known as India’s first speakeasy-style cocktail bar, PCO draws inspiration from the rebellious spirit of the Prohibition era. Over the years, this cocktail destination has evolved, becoming more than just a cocktail bar. Today, it is a defining destination in shaping Delhi’s cocktail culture.

Despite the many bars that have opened since, PCO continues to stand out through its commitment to craftsmanship, storytelling, and innovation.

Discovering The Forbidden Menu

Our focus at PCO was the aptly named Forbidden Menu, a collection of cocktails that showcases the venue’s creativity and technical expertise.

We first sampled Eve's Choice. It was a fascinating combination of sweet, spicy, and complex flavors. Easy on the palate, each sip revealed new layers.

Next came Oral Fixation! As unusual as the name might sound, this cocktail was velvety-rich and boasted of an elegant construction that is now synonymous with PCO.

The intriguingly named Sticky Mess won our hearts with its sweet, indulgent, and expertly balanced. The drink has a dessert-like appeal and never feels cloyingly sweet. Another standout was Not for Check In, a tropical and aromatic cocktail that delivered exactly what its description promised. Bright, flavorful, and immensely enjoyable, it felt perfectly suited to Delhi’s social drinking culture.

Bar Bites At PCO

No cocktail session is complete without food, and naturally PCO’s bar bites provide the ideal company.

The Chimichurri Prawns brought freshness and vibrant herbaceous flavors to the table. Rich and spicy, the Spiced Lamb Tostadas created a soul-satisfying contrast to the cocktails.

The Crunchy Chicken Strips delivered exactly what was expected of them – crispy, flavorful, and perfect for binge-eating.

Finally, the 5 Cheese and Chili Pizza delivered a creamy, cheesy indulgence, making it the perfect sharing plate.

The Highlight: The Director’s Room

Just when we thought PCO couldn’t exceed our expectations, we were introduced to what may be one of Delhi’s most exclusive cocktail experiences – The Director’s Room.

It is hidden within PCO and is a secret 12-seater space accessible only through a separate code.

What makes this room truly special is its concept. There is no traditional menu. No preset rules. Instead, guests embark on an omakase-style cocktail experience built entirely around their preferences, moods, and personalities.

For our session, we were served a series of cocktails inspired by scents. Each drink was crafted specifically for us, creating a highly personalized journey unlike anything found in a conventional bar setting.

The experience felt intimate, immersive, and deeply creative. And this is surely a testament to how far cocktail culture has evolved in India. Rather than serving drinks in the simplest ways, the team created an experience that blended mixology, storytelling, and sensory exploration.
