A great alcohol commercial is a work of art really. When you create that connection with the consumers and impress the connoisseurs with your heritage, it is a beautiful experience. Here are 5 amazing alcohol commercials that we think you should know about and watch…
Jameson Lost Barrel (2009): Despite the recession, Jameson Irish Whiskey grew 25% because of its strong loyalty and amazing advertising. Here’s the perfect example of good story telling + great brand messaging by infusing Irish culture. Its original video is lost in the trenches of the internet but its copies have millions of hits worldwide. They personified the brand through the legacy of its founder, and have created a more emotional connection with the customers, which gets resurfaced every time they order a Jameson at the bar. What production and emotional value! Watch it below:
Guinness (2012): Just an amazing commercial! So full of life and a twist at the end. What a thoughtful meaning behind some great messaging. It feels like this ad had you from the beginning and just took you on a beautiful journey. Everyone wishes they had these types of friends who stick by you through thick and thin. That was the core message behind this ad – to bond with your mates.

Budweiser (2013): I’m personally not a fan of the brand or its commercial, but almost every research house and public news outlet unanimously declared it to be the winner of the Super Bowl. The ad hits the core TG at its heart – the cowboy American. It’s got cute animals, handsome men, and an endearing story. Now if only Budweiser could make some decent quality beers, this ad would hit us more.
Dos Equis (Timeless): Dos Equis has been reinvigorated with great commercials that we can watch weeks later and still find something marvelous about it. These ads were launched around early 2010 and have been a gold mine of sorts. These are hands down one of the best commercials from a beer company ever made. Its production value, its storytelling and its great integration with the brand. People didn’t know what XX meant, and now they do. All the videos combined have 100s of millions of views online. A great brand and great advertising. And yes – amazing production value!

Bud Light (2008): Yes, another Bud light commercial. But they’re hilarious. We have to put aside the taste with the advertising. Their ads used to be simple, cocky and funny. So ‘Fuck you Bob’ and ‘Fuck you Jim.’ You’ll know why I’m saying that when you watch the video. The ending is emotional and touching in a weird way, but you know what, I love it. It is crazy advertising that had never been done before, and it made Bud Light more personable and an after-office drink you could enjoy with your colleagues to celebrate a victory.
