Amoon Spirits launched the world’s first smart vodka on November 21, 2025. The smart vodka is an ultra-premium spirit housed within an interactive, high-end bottle system. What this does is transform each pour into an immersive experience blending premium drinking with technology. The vodka has been handcrafted in New York’s Catskills Mountains and is a completely new category of luxury and artisanal drinking.
Indianapolis-based entrepreneurs and longtime friends Mark McLaurine II and Christopher Tooley founded Amoon Spirits. They spent six years developing this one-of-a-kind technology and packaging. McLaurine says that the brand has been established to “redefine the cocktail experience” and “create an entirely new ultra-premium segment.”
On the other hand, Tooley shares that their goal is to make every first-time consumer to “feel a sense of wonder the moment they encounter Amoon”.

Let’s understand the tech aspect of this vodka that is grabbing eyeballs across the globe. The brand’s newest smart vodka uses a patented Vortex Control Unit (VCU). This system powers an internal stir bar which creates the brand’s signature vortex inside the bottle. When connected, the bottle illuminates with a range of LED light sequences.
What’s also intriguing is that the entire system is app-controlled. Amoon’s native AI-enhanced app lets users personalize lighting colors, vortex speeds, and even pulse patterns. Needless to say that the interactive vodka bottle LED light app lets users curate personalized ‘light shows’ inside their vodka bottle.
The vodka is distilled from several varieties of potatoes, corn, and sweet potatoes. The spirit is not only made using refined ingredients but also timely quality assurance and signature craftsmanship. In their 30-acre estate in the Catskills mountains, the brand uses pristine water for the purest possible quality of vodka. What’s also worth noting is that the by-product of the estate’s distillation process is delivered fresh to local farmers for feeding their livestock.
In terms of taste, the vodka has a clean and smooth taste. It has a subtle sweetness with a clean profile and polished finish.

The bottle will come with a VCU base. The device will have lighting effects, AI-driven shows, as well as app-enabled features. Empty vodka bottles are easily replaceable by lifting off the base and inserting a new compatible bottle.

The interchangeable VCU-enabled replacement smart bottle has its own stir bar mixer. It also pairs seamlessly with an existing VCU and enables all vortex and lighting capabilities.

The ultra-premium vodka is smooth, elevated, and pure, delivering a high-caliber spirit. However, it will not be sold with connected features.
For now, the brand is retailing in the United States. While details of when the brand will enter India are not clear, we can only hope that the products launch soon in India.
