We all have heard about the smallest woman, the smallest river, and many other record-breaking small things. But have you heard about the world’s smallest beer? Carlsberg, a Danish multinational brewing company, just launched it, and it measures a tiny 12 millimeters in height! You might be curious about what’s the purpose of such a small beer? It turns out, this unique bottle is designed to inspire people to drink responsibly. Read on to learn the story behind this remarkable creation.
Yes, Carlsberg has just launched a groundbreaking non-alcoholic brew, known as the “world’s smallest beer”, to promote moderate and responsible drinking. This tiny beer is filled in a glass bottle that is roughly the size of a grain of rice. It holds about 0.005 centiliters of beer, which is just one single drop. The beer bottle, though, is of a miniature size, but holds a very significant message that talks about moderation in alcohol consumption.

This smallest beer bottle was a collaborative effort by Glaskomponent, Sweden’s RISE Research Institutes, and Miniature artist Asa Strand.
Glaskomponent is a company that specializes in laboratory glassware. They developed the tiny rice-grain-sized bottle. RISE engineered the "fiber optic capillary technology," which is a precise way to fill the bottle with a drop of beer. Asa Strand crafted and applied the tiny label, cap, and coloring with great precision.
This non-alcoholic beer was brewed at Carlsberg's experimental brewery in Falkenberg, Sweden.

Head of Communications at Carlsberg Sweden, Casper Danielsson, mentioned how, though the size of the bottle is small but the message is bigger. He called the launch of this bottle their most moderate idea ever to promote responsible drinking.
It holds only one-twentieth of a milliliter, and because of its size, one can actually miss it. But the message that they are looking to put across is to remind people about the importance of drinking responsibly.
This launch also comes with a challenge for all the students in the universities in Sweden. The challenge is to create an even smaller bottle with incentives that include study trips to Carlsberg’s research facilities and scholarships.
