Gateway Brewing Co. is Mumbai’s pioneering microbrewery, which was founded in 2011 and commercially launched in 2014. It has deep roots in Mumbai’s craft beer scene and was founded by three Mumbaikars - Navin Mittal, Krishna Naik, and Rahul Mehra.
Navin Mittal is a beer enthusiast and expert who, with his extensive brewing knowledge, played a key role in shaping the brewery's recipes and ethos. Along with two other Mumbaikars, he shared a vision to serve fresh, high-quality craft beer to beer lovers.
The company soon became integral to Mumbai's growing craft beer culture. The reason was its commitment to freshness. This brand did not filter or pasteurize their beers, thereby retaining natural flavors and nutrients. The brewery's flagship beers include the White Zen and Doppelganger.
Gateway Brewing Co. significantly contributed to crafting Mumbai’s microbrewery policy. It has also supported the craft beer movement by serving beers to over 100 bars before the pandemic.
In 2021, it opened its first retail store near the iconic Gateway of India, designed to make its craft beers directly accessible to consumers in bottles and kegs.

This is Mumbai’s original wheat beer with a light and refreshing character. It features prominent hints of clove and banana, typical of a Hefeweizen style. The texture is light with a smooth mouthfeel and moderate bitterness.

Zini Lager is an American Light lager-style beer produced with a refreshing taste and lighter body. It is known to be made out of a native rice variety called "Zini" from Palghar in India. This variety of rice is now at risk of extinction. The beer is crisp, clean with moderate bitterness.
This is an India Pale Ale brewed with aromatic American Mosaic hops, which impart a distinct floral, citrusy, and tropical fruit aroma and flavor. The texture is medium-bodied with moderate bitterness, which is said to be a characteristic of the IPA style.
