Jack Daniel’s has unveiled its newest release in the annual Single Barrel Special Release series: Tanyard Hill Rye. This Tennessee rye whiskey is uniquely matured in one of the oldest barrelhouses at the Jack Daniel Distillery.
The whiskey has been kept in handmade American White Oak barrels since November 2015. It has aged for almost a whole decade and experienced the natural seasonal weather cycle of that region (specifically Barrel House 1 atop Tanyard Hill).

The Tanyard Hill Rye gets its distinctive character and name from Tanyard Hill, a historically significant location at the Jack Daniel Distillery. This site is situated right next to the renowned Coy Hill and is also home to barrelhouses constructed in the 1960s.
This elevated site features old barrels, which are exposed to the seasonal extremes of Tennessee. From crisp winters to intense summer heat, these seasonal extremes actually create ideal conditions for the development of deep flavors.
Officially hitting shelves nationwide in October 2025, Tanyard Hill Rye is offered in 700mL bottles with an MRP of about INR 7061 ($80 USD). The release is estimated to be around 15,000 bottles, underscoring its exclusivity and appeal to collectors.

This whiskey features a traditional rye mash bill with 18% corn, 70% rye, and 12% malted barley. The distillate is filtered through sugar maple charcoal before barreling, the major reason behind the whiskey’s complexity and smoothness.
The whisky is bottled straight from the barrel after almost 10 years without any chill filtration, with alcohol content ranging from 65.10% to 74.40% ABV. It will be available in a 750 ml bottle.
This uncut, high-octane strength puts Tanyard Hill Rye in the company of Jack Daniel’s highest-proof limited editions.

Tanyard Hill Rye’s aroma is described as rich and layered. It has dark fruits like black cherry and raisin, which are paired with notes of toasted walnuts, chocolate-covered raisins, and a subtle brown sugar sweetness.
The palate is complex and offers hints of baking spices, candied mint, blackstrap molasses, spearmint gum, mulled apple cider, and dark chocolate.
