Paul John Launches Limited Edition Whiskey At Bengaluru Duty Free, Just 192 Bottles Made

If collecting whisky is your thing, there’s a new release you might want to keep an eye out for the next time you’re flying out of Bengaluru. Paul John Indian Single Malt brand, has teamed up with Bengaluru Duty Free to launch a highly limited single cask expression, and it’s available only at the departures section of Kempegowda International Airport.

What makes this release stand out is how limited it is. Only 192 bottles have been produced, which puts it firmly in collector territory. With a price tag of INR 14,950 for a 700 ml bottle, this isn’t something you casually pick up, it’s more of a considered buy for those who appreciate rarity and craftsmanship.

This bottling is part of the brand’s ongoing airport-exclusive series, and interestingly, it’s the third edition to be released under this concept. These travel-retail exclusives have been quietly building a niche following, especially among flyers who like picking up something that isn’t easily available in regular retail.

The key highlight here is that it’s a single cask whisky. In simple terms, that means the liquid comes from a single barrel rather than being blended from several casks. Because of this, each bottle carries a more distinct personality, something whisky enthusiasts often look for when they want a break from standard, consistent profiles.

Flavour And Packaging

Like the rest of the brand’s portfolio, this expression has been distilled and matured in Goa, where the tropical climate plays a big role in how the whisky develops. Warmer conditions tend to speed up maturation, often resulting in bolder, more concentrated flavours compared to whiskies aged in cooler climates. The expression has a deep-gold colour and aromas of dark fruits mixed with caramel, vanilla, and a touch of manuka honey along with hints of leather, tobacco, and spiced orange cake.

There’s also a strong local touch when it comes to the design. The packaging features an illustrated take on Commercial Street, one of the city’s most recognisable neighbourhoods. The artwork is by Paul Fernandes, known for capturing old Bangalore through his signature visual style. It adds a layer of nostalgia and makes the bottle feel like a tribute to the city itself.

Summing Up

For travellers passing through Bengaluru, this release is one of those finds that you won’t really see outside the airport. Given the limited number of bottles, it’s expected to move quickly, especially among collectors and loyal fans of the brand.
