Bengaluru is not short of places for a date night, in fact, the difficult part is usually choosing one. You can do a rooftop dinner, find a tiny cocktail bar where the lights are low and the music isn't screaming at you, or go somewhere that has genuinely good food and let the drinks take over later. And if awards mean something to you, the city has plenty of those too. Bengaluru took the top two spots in the latest completed 30 Best Bars India ranking, with Bar Spirit Forward at No. 1 and Soka at No. 2.
Instead of another generic list of "romantic restaurants", here are 10 Bengaluru places I'd actually keep in mind when planning a date.
Bar Spirit Forward was named India's Best Bar in the 30 Best Bars India 2025 awards, announced in January 2026, and it also made the Asia's 50 Best Bars 2026 list at No. 30.
It is on Lavelle Road inside Hotel Southern Star and has a warm, slightly old-school cocktail-bar atmosphere. The drinks are serious without making the whole experience feel overly formal. For a first date, this is the sort of place where you can actually focus on the person sitting across the table.

Soka is another one I would put high on the list, especially if both of you are interested in cocktails. It was No. 2 on the latest 30 Best Bars India ranking and No. 18 on Asia's 50 Best Bars 2026.
The space is intimate, which makes it feel quite different from Bengaluru's larger party bars. It is better suited to a date where the drinks are part of the conversation rather than just something you order along with dinner.

For a date where you want a little mystery with the drinks, ZLB23 at The Leela Palace is an interesting one.
It was No. 7 on the 2025 30 Best Bars India list and also retained the award for Best Hotel Bar. The speakeasy is tucked inside The Leela Palace and has a Kyoto-inspired setting, which makes it feel like a proper occasion without having to go somewhere extremely loud.

Approx price: Expect a premium hotel-bar bill, generally INR 4,000+ for two
This is probably the most obvious choice if you want the date itself to have a bit of theatre.
Dali & Gala is on Museum Road and combines cocktails, Burmese small plates and surrealist art. It was No. 9 on the latest 30 Best Bars India list. The whole room is deliberately eccentric, with artwork and different little seating areas, so there is always something to talk about even if you're in that awkward first-date stage.

Muro is another Museum Road option, but the mood here is more modern Asian social club than cocktail speakeasy. Its kitchen focuses on Thai and Cantonese food, while the bar has a proper cocktail programme.
There are three different spaces, including an island bar and alfresco tables, so you can choose depending on how quiet or lively you want the evening to be. The restaurant itself says it is designed for dinner or simply drinks, which makes it pretty flexible for a date.

If you're after a more polished hotel-bar date, Copitas at Four Seasons is worth knowing about. It made the latest 30 Best Bars India Top 30 at No. 30.
The setting is more refined, but it doesn't feel like you need to be celebrating an anniversary to walk in. Cocktails are the obvious draw, though the food and wine options mean you can stay for a proper dinner too.

Not every good date night needs to revolve around cocktails. Olive Beach has been around for years and remains one of those places you can choose when the food matters just as much as the drinks.
The Mediterranean restaurant has a garden-like setting and a much quieter feel than the big nightlife venues. It works particularly well if this is an actual dinner date and you want to sit down and talk.

For something distinctly Indian, I'd consider Karavalli at Vivanta Bengaluru. It specialises in regional South Indian coastal cuisine and has been one of the city's better-known fine-dining names for years.
This is less "cocktail date" and more "let's actually have dinner". Which, sometimes, is exactly what you want.

The Ritz-Carlton Bar is another option when you want a quieter, more dressed-up evening. It is not trying to compete with Indiranagar's loud nightlife, and that is sort of the point.
Go here if the plan is one or two well-made drinks, a little conversation and then dinner. It suits a later date particularly well.

And then there is The 13th Floor, which is a completely different kind of date night. The big attraction is obviously the view over Bengaluru, particularly once the city lights come on.
It is less intimate than Soka or ZLB23, but if you're looking for a classic rooftop date, it still makes sense. Go around sunset, get a table with a view and don't rush through dinner.

Personally, I wouldn't decide based only on which place has won an award. Awards are useful because they tell you where the industry is paying attention, but a date night needs a little more than that.
The nice thing about Bengaluru is that you can make the evening whatever you want. It doesn't have to be a huge Saturday-night production. Sometimes a good table, two drinks and a conversation that lasts longer than expected is a pretty successful date.
