For years, every time you would ask someone to name the best city to witness nightlife in India, Mumbai and Delhi were the only names that people knew. But slowly that began to change as the Silicon Valley of India, Bengaluru, came into the spotlight. And this time it has managed to rank on a global list of best cities for nightlife. Yes, Time Out’s latest ranking, Best Cities for Nightlife 2026, has listed Bengaluru in the top 20.
The latest ranking by Time Out of the Best Cities For Nightlife 2026 in partnership with Intrepid Travel has ranked Bengaluru in 17th position globally. The best part? Bengaluru is the only city to have featured on this global list.
India’s tech capital city has finally made it to the world nightlife map after being listed on global lists for food, culture, as well as social scenes. The ranking was based on local responses about the quality, affordability, diversity, safety, and more. They were also asked to rate everything, including how easy it is to find places and people that feel like your own type of crowd. Time Out’s editors and nightlife experts decided the final list based on these responses.
While nightlife quality scored 71 percent, community feel scored 82 percent. Affordability received a weaker score of 54 percent. Locals were also asked about what makes their city’s nightlife worth stepping out; street life scored 55 percent and casual bars scored 50 percent. Basically, the experience of it all together is what makes the city’s nightlife worth it!

People in Bengaluru are spoilt for choice when it comes to the nightlife scene with new spots like Whitefield, Ulsoor, and Rajajinagar. Even though there are new spots popping up, the well-known spots like MG Road, Koramangala, and Indiranagar also remain on the list.
Dali & Gala, The Middle Room, and Bar Cameo are some of the newer names that people are recommending to others. The city goes beyond the conventional pubs, clubs, and cocktail bars, as Queer events and drag shows offer variety in entertainment options as well.

The city that topped this list of best nightlife is Bangkok, followed by Berlin in second place. New York City secured third place, while Melbourne and Sao Paulo hit the 4th and 5th spot globally!

A part of this achievement can easily be attributed to the IT boom, as more and more young professionals are coming to the city. This has led to a growing demand for places to unwind and socialise in Bengaluru.
