I know it sounds crazy, you can creatively use your leftover wine. The crazy bit is ‘leftover’, because who leaves wine, am I right? But if, by mistake, you have grabbed a wrong bottle of wine, which exactly isn’t your taste, here are five things you can do with it.
Skincare
Wine is rich with anti-oxidants and you can’t put enough of it on your skin. Use your leftover wine as a toner, right after a wash or pour some in a bathtub before a relaxing jacuzzi night. Your skin will be super smooth and supple and also you will smell like wine. Haters gonna hate, we love it!
Veggies/Fruit cleanser
I know this may sound a little radical, but it’s not that scary. Pour a few teaspoons of wine into a spraying bottle and mix it with warm water. Give your veggies and fruits some quick splashes to keep them fresh and clean for days. This would kill any bacterial presence. Wine can be healthy too.
Save yourself from stains
Red wines leave stains. Like permanent ones. If you have a white surface where red wine has spilt, we all know like our love for wine, it’s forever. But, if you manage to pour some white wine over it quick enough and wipe it clean with a cold towel, a lot of damage can be controlled.
Healthy marinade
If you are a religious carnivore, you know how crucial it is to marinate meat. Next time when you are about to grill some juicy tender, chicken or lamb, soak it in wine for six hours because it can be super healthy. There’s a theory that if you marinate your meat in wine for long enough, it will curb up to 90% of cancer-causing elements. It’s also very delicious.
A tasty vinegar
A wine that’s not supposed to be aged, develops properties that can be turned into vinegar once it starts ageing. And f you are looking for a consistent supply of wine vinegar, pour 4 cups of wine and 1 cup of vinegar into a wide-mouthed glass jug. Keep the container sealed with a lid, but open it for a half hour every day to let it breathe. Tada, healthy, balanced vinegar.
