Davana Vermouth Indica Expands To Four New Indian Markets

India’s first homegrown vermouth, Davana Vermouth Indica, has expanded its footprint to Delhi, Pondicherry, Pune, Indore and Bhopal, taking the brand's presence to eight cities across India. The expansion marks another milestone in the brand's mission to make vermouth more accessible to Indian consumers and bartenders, as interest in aperitifs and evolving cocktail culture continues to grow across the country.

Launching Into New Indian Markets

Vermouth, a fortified and aromatised wine, has long been the backbone of iconic cocktails like the Negroni, Martini, and Manhattan. While it has traditionally remained behind the bar, the category is now seeing a global resurgence as consumers embrace lower-ABV drinking occasions. In India too, changing palates and growing interest in craft spirits are creating space for vermouth to become a drink of choice.

Adarsh Gadvi, Founder, Davana Vermouth Indica, says, “When we launched Davana, our goal was to build awareness for an entirely new and underrated category in India. Today, seeing the brand expand from Goa, Bangalore and Mumbai into Delhi, Pondicherry, Pune, Indore and Bhopal is a strong indicator that the aperitif conversation is maturing across different parts of the country. Consumers are becoming more curious, bartenders are experimenting beyond traditional spirits, and there's a growing appreciation for drinks that are lighter but still flavour-forward.”

Davana Vermouth Indica Fills A Gap In Indian Market

Founded by Adarsh Gadvi and Evgenii Savvateev, Davana Vermouth Indica was over two years in the making, with more than 50 recipe trials before arriving at its final expressions. The founders combined European vermouth-making techniques with India's rich botanical heritage to create a spirit that is unmistakably Indian.

From the Devanagari logo and cork-sealed finish to the intricate illustrations of lotus, peacocks, tigers, and davana leaves, every detail of the bottle displays the country's craftsmanship.

Davana Vermouth Indica was created to fill a longstanding gap in the Indian market. Crafted from a Chenin Blanc wine base and 21-23 locally sourced botanicals, the brand brings a distinctly Indian expression to the classic aperitif.

Available in two variants: Bianco, light, floral, and citrus-forward with 21 botanicals, and Rosso, herbal, bittersweet, and layered with 23 botanicals, Davana is equally suited for sipping over ice, spritzes, or classic cocktails.
